SUBSERVIENCE (2024)
Whether or not it aimed to be, Subservience is a cheesy, campy good time with a very game Megan Fox (perfect casting). It’s not “so bad that it’s good”, but rather it’s a fun, low stakes fantasy sci-fi thriller that accomplishes exactly what it set out to do: entertain and looking good while doing it. Yes there are plot holes, but like a man who picks the hottest nanny robot to mind his children while his wife awaits a heart transplant, you get what it was you really wanted all along: a good time and a little guilty pleasure.
WATCH OR NOT: WATCH
Additional musings:
Why not cast an average or below average looking male lead who can handle some self deprecating humour (and might not be used to Megan Fox types hitting on them)? Or why not have Michele Morrone speak in his native tongue with his SIM? It might have added to the attraction and his confusion?
Did you know that the actress who plays Maggie (Madeline Zima) was the little girl from The Hand that Rocks the Craddle (1992)?
